David O'Kane receives two honorary awards at the
1st Montijo International Plastic Arts Biennial– IX Vespeira Prize
O'Kane shows his animated video, "Defragmented Thoughts" and
two installations from his "Doppelgaenger series" of animated portraits
The exhibition runs from the 14th of August until the 31st of October.

Two installations from David O'Kane's "Doppelgaenger series" of animated portraits
were selected by Lizzie Carey-Thomas (curator at Tate Britain and curator of this year’s Turner Prize)
for the Claremorris Open Exhibition 2008 in Ireland. The Exhibition opening will take place in September 6th.

David O'Kane's specially commisioned short film "Palabras" was screened
on the 8th of June 2008 at the Serralves em Festa 2008 in Oporto, Portugal
O'Kane's proposal was one of twelve production awards selected by Regina Guimarães

Artist's talk for e v+ a in Limerick, Ireland
David O'Kane will give a talk on his recent award winning video piece, "Babble",and his upcoming video installation, "Palabras" for Serralves em Festa in Portugal.
On May 16th there will be a walking tour of the venues in the e v+ a exhibition 11am – 1.30pm.
O'Kane's talk is scheduled for 3pm in Istabraq Hall, City Hall in Limerick
At 6pm the e v+ a catalogue will be officially launched.

O'Kane will show a film of a short film devised for the exhibition,

Extension of DAAD scholarship until July 2009.
David O'Kane receives an e v+ a Open Award from the curator, Hou Hanru,
for his short film "Babble", at the official opening of the 32nd Exhibition of Visual + Art in
Limerick, Ireland on the 7th of March.
The exhibition will continue until the 25th of May.
O'Kane's piece is on display in the Ex-Tax Motor Tax Office in Limerick. (www.eva.ie)

the Spinnerei in Leipzig Germany. The Residency will commence in January 2008
